Journey to where the Wild West begins… but keep your eyes peeled for outlaws!

Be enchanted by never-ending blue skies and radiant starlight while on our 42 Day Big Sky & Rocky Mountain High Caravan. This picturesque area is home to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, and the Rocky Mountains. You will experience Mother Nature at her finest on this spectacular display of bounty and plenty.

From the Black Hills National Forest to a Mount Rushmore Evening Light Show, South Dakota is awash in incredible beauty. We enjoy two days in the legendary Wild West town of Deadwood, location of Boot Hill and final resting place for Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane before stopping at Devils Tower, Americas first National Monument, where Close Encounters of the Third Kind was filmed.

We travel to Buffalo and Cody, WY, areas of the country that have been a significant part of American History. Buffalo was named by Time Magazine as one of the most charming communities in the Rocky Mountains. The majestic beauty and natural wonder of Yellowstone National Park and the Tetons will astound us as we enjoy seven unforgettable days grasping the sheer beauty of what these two great phenomenon’s give us.

Heading into Utah and Colorado, we are surrounded by some of the world’s most colorful scenery every minute and mile of your trip. Each mile capitalizes on the beauty and splendor of the region, giving you many Kodak moments. You are in for a special treat, as you ride the Durango & Silverton Railroad, Canyonlands by Night Boat Cruise, Royal Gorge Aerial Tram and Pikes Peak Cog Railway.

This trip ends in Denver, where 300 days of sunshine, a thriving cultural scene, diverse neighborhoods, old west history, and natural beauty combine for the world’s most spectacular playground called the Rocky Mountains. Denver’s stunning architecture and cultural facilities will move you from the past to the present. The Denver Art Museum, Denver Performing Arts and the Denver Mint are only some of places we will visit.

Note: We use buses whenever possible, but due to the nature of this trip and the areas we traverse, it is more practical to use your own vehicle or ride share in a few areas as your interests or desires may differ from the next person. This allows you to spend more or less time at some locations depending on your individual desires. This also gives us the opportunity to enjoy many highlights we would other-wise miss, since buses are not allowed.

Our knowledgeable staff will guide and make sure you see all important places and enjoy the many historic sites.

Join us for a Rocky Mountain High Adventure and experience the thrill.

Testimonials

  • “Everything was great. Well done!! You know a lot about Chicago when you leave. Love the city.”
    Donna & Phillip Laugen
  • When we signed up for the tour all we knew was that we were going to Alaska. Adventure Caravans made this trip, for us, a once in a lifetime experience. Everything was taken care of, all we had to do was leave in the morning and be in the next campground by a certain time. We enjoyed every facet of the tour from the log meetings and socials to the tours and our free time. Kudos to the wagon masters and the Penny and Tom. The icing on the cake are the wonderful friends that we made and know we will keep in touch. The camaraderie among the whole group was amazing but the trip left us with memories for a lifetime. Thank you Adventure Caravans.

  • “Thank you for making all our dreams come true. Looking forward to all the new adventures with you next year.”

  • Regarding our 31-day Canadian Maritimes caravan Cindy and I would like to express how much we enjoyed the caravan with Rick & Sharon Gilbert and John & Sally Mincks. Both couples were outstanding and we would love to book any caravan they are involved with. We booked for the 2018 Big Sky caravan and hope you can assign one or both off them to that trip. We met many wonderful people and hope we have made some new life long friendships. We hope to meet up with Rick and Sharon at the Tampa RV show in January. The tour guides for our various bus tours were top notch, all added much information and interesting stories to the tour. Please give a big thanks to Roger in Quebec City, Roddie in PEI, Carolyn in Halifax and Paul on The Cabot Trail.

  • “We had a ball! Our teams were great, we love all four of them!”
    Phil & Donna Laugen
  • I must say it was way beyond my wildest dreams and thoughts of South Africa. First of all, I have to say that the people were exceptional. They were beautiful not only in looks, their beauty was in everything they did for us. They were so happy to talk with us and question us about America. They all would love to come over here to visit but said they knew they would never be able to afford the trip. I was overwhelmed with the young children and their attitude toward us. They laughed, smiled and waved to us all along the highways on their way to school. I have to admit, I was so proud of how they were dressed and their pride. Our American children have so much and appreciate it so little.
    Carole & Len Adams
  • “This trip was absolutely amazing and wonderful! A new adventure every day, we loved every minute of it.”
